What is static electricity?
Static electricity is an imbalance of electrical charges on the surface of a material. The charge will be stored there until it can be transferred elsewhere through an electric current or discharge. Static electricity is very easy to see around life, typically friction when wearing clothes (especially sweaters), or when it’s cold when we put our hands close to machines…
The cause of static electricity.
Matter is made up of atoms which are electrically neutral because they contain equal amounts of positive charge (protons in the nucleus) and negative charge (electrons in the shell). Electrostatic phenomena require the separation of these positive and negative charges. When two materials come into contact, electrons move from one to the other, causing an excess of positive charge on one material, and an excess of negative charge on the other. When the materials are separated, this charge imbalance is maintained. Or in short, an electrostatic object always has the potential to discharge and transmit electricity if the right conditions arise.
Harmful effects of static electricity?
For man
In production
There are two basic types of harm. The first is Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) which causes damage, malfunction, and deterioration of the quality of electronic elements, assemblies (such as circuit boards), or even a complete device. The usual way of causing harm is through electric current, or through electromagnetic waves generated during launch. The second is ESA electrostatic attraction. There is a lot of dust in the air, which cannot be seen with the naked eye. A dust particle the size of 1 micrometer is enough to cause a short circuit and damage a semiconductor circuit, when the node-pitch is only measured in a few dozen nanometers (2015). This phenomenon of dust accumulation due to static electricity greatly affects the quality of production processes that require clean surfaces such as: Printing, optical assembly, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, coating, painting, and cementing. plating, semiconductor…etc.
Antistatic Corrugated plastic and its role?
With such harmful effects of static electricity, anti-static Corrugated plastic was born to meet the needs of packaging and transporting electronic devices (especially circuit boards). Antistatic Danpla plastic at An Khanh has the following properties:
-Index from 10^4-10^9, spread very widely to meet the needs of each customer.
-100% virgin seeds, no impurities.
-High hardness and toughness.
-Size on request.
-Color: black.
-Thickness: common 3mm-5mm.
Walls made from anti-static Corrugated Plastic help prevent static electricity and electrical discharges that cause damage to electronic circuit boards.
